Dean's Message

Welcome to the VIT School of Design (V-SIGN) at Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore. I am privileged to have served as Dean since November 2022.
V-SIGN was founded in 2016. V-SIGN offers two programs i.e. under graduation Bachelors in Design (B.Des - 4 years) and post-graduation Master in Design (M.Des - 2 years) in Industrial Design.
The design students are provided with the necessary skills, and knowledge for pursuing their creative careers as industrial designers in multiple areas of specialization such as Tangible and SMART product design, Mobility design, Interaction, and User Experience Design.
The students learn various aspects of design by acquiring theoretical knowledge and hands-on practice to realize the design solution using studios, labs, and workshops. The curriculum is designed in a manner that synthesizes both academic requirements and industrial practices. The students are encouraged to do internships with industries to get experience in real-world needs, application of the learned knowledge, and imbibe professional best practices.
