Terra Greens adopts 4000 farmers in TN to meet growing demand for organic staples

Terra Greens, a Hyderabad-based start up engaged in organic food business, has announced its move to adopt 4000 farmers in Tamil Nadu to meet the growing need for organic staples and encourage organic food cultivation.



Likitha Bhanu, Founder and Director of Terra greens, (www.terragreensorganic.com) announced this at Agrimeet, an event conducted by VIT University in association with NABARD and agricultural university of Vellore.



Terra Greens range of 99 organic staples products is focussed on nutrition for the urban Indian.



A Bio Technology alumina of VIT Likitha said “Our first step is helping these 4000 farmers to achieve Organic Farming Certification and Documentation and expand their prowess to grow organic rice and millets. Tamil Nadu is a rare oasis of organic and sustainable agriculture and we are happy with to welcome 4000 new farmers in Terra Greens family.”



The biggest benefit of our collaboration is a buy back guarantee from Terra Greens to these farmers. The move to collaborate with farmers is part of the company growth strategy to increase the area under rice and millet cultivation.



Terra Firma Projects founded in 2013 has tie up with 2,000 farmers across five Indian states to procure organic produce. The company is in talks to raise its first round of institutional funding to expand its production, distribution and new product portfolio. The company has presence in 16 states with its products available in over 300 stores.
