Life Cycle Thinking can be used by decision-makers in both the public and private sector for the development of policies and products, as well as for procurement and the provision of services. And it can also be used by anyone toward sustainable consumption decisions and lifestyles. Global challenges require not only clear scientific progress in individual disciplines but also cohesion among them. Science-based assessments are the key to monitoring progress and support the decisions. But to face the immense challenges to sustainable development we also need a new way of thinking.
