Industry 4.0 is rapidly gaining momentum and attention worldwide. Industry 4.0 is revolutionizing the way companies manufacture, improve, and distribute their products. Manufacturers are integrating new technologies, including Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing and analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) into their production facilities and operations that rely on connectivity over both wired and wireless networks, in which, call for efficient control and communication codesign. Towards this, AI/ML plays a key role due to its inherited capabilities of uncovering dependencies and patterns from data, simplifying complex operations using functional approximations, and learning control and communication policies that depend on the system via interactions.
