International Conference on Intelligent Systems & Design
The 18th annual International Conference on Intelligent Systems Design and Applications began at Vellore Institute of Technology on Thursday. The three-day conference was inaugurated by Raija Halonen, Professor of Information Processing Science at the University of Oulu, Finland.
Speaking after inaugurating the conference, organised by the School of Information Technology and Engineering, Ms. Halonen said that she was glad to note that a lot of research work was being conducted in several departments at VIT. She observed that in a vast country like India, technological advancements were growing at a rapid pace. At the same, with the help of advanced and sophisticated technology available in the country, solutions to problems in the information technology sector were also being found. In addition to Finland, United States and India, developments in information technology was growing at a rapid pace in many other countries. Keeping this in mind, students, young research scholars should strive towards developing information technology for the betterment of the society and the country, Professor Halonen said.
Balakrushna Tripathy, Dean of the School, welcomed the gathering to the international conference. Professor Anand A Samuel, Vice Chancellor, lecturers and students took part in the function. Professors Aswani Kumar Cherukuri and Sathyamurthy, coordinated the event.
