Great Placements for VIT Students, Inspite of The Pandemic
Though it is pandemic times, Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) emerged as the Top Educational Institution in India by having 7403 job offers rolled out by 382 companies that conducted campus recruitments at VIT. All the campus recruitments were conducted virtually and 4503 students have taken multiple offers. IT majors Cognizant, Infosys and TCS have conducted their annual campus recruitment process at VIT. This year, due to the pandemic, all the three companies have conducted their entire process remotely. Students from all the 4 campuses of VIT (Vellore, Chennai, Amaravati and Bhopal) participated in the selection process. The results were announced by Dr. G. Viswanathan, Chancellor of VIT and 3517 job offers were rolled out by these 3 companies with Cognizant offering 1418 students followed by TCS (1321) and Infosys (778). These are the highest numbers offered by these companies this year across all the campuses in the country. The other IT services companies like Virtusa, Hexaware, CapGemini and Mindtree have also recruited in big numbers from VIT.
Earlier, TCS has recruited 224 students for its Digital Practice with a CTC of Rs.7 lakhs per annum followed by Wipro hiring 419 students for its Turbo hiring with a CTC of Rs. 6.5 lakhs per year for a higher position. Again these are the highest numbers for TCS and Wipro for this year across all the campuses in the country. Wipro and VIT hold the Limca Book of Records for the highest number of Dream offers (278 offers from 2020 batch). Wipro and VIT broke their own record by having 419 offers from the 2021 graduating batch. VIT has already entered into Limca Book of Records 10 times for highest number of placements. VIT started its campus placements with the Post Graduate (PG) internship and placements in May, 2020 is continuing simultaneously, 144 companies have already completed their remote hiring process and have selected 1028 PG students from 2 year M.Tech, M.Tech. (Software Engineering) MCA and MSc courses.
Intel, Qualcomm, Netapp, Nokia, Philips, Paypal,Vmware, Mediatek, Philips Signify, Samsung, AMDInc, GE, Mentor Graphics Danfoss, Schneider Electric, Vocera. Volvo, Novartis etc., are some of the prominent recruiters who recruited interns from VIT this year. Intel and Nokia have recruited more than 100 students for internships.
Campus placements at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) started on July 14, 2020 for the 2021 graduating batch with Super Dream companies (CTC more than Rs.10 Lakhs per annum). Some of the Super Dream companies that have recruited from VIT include Microsoft, Amazon, Paypal, D.E.Shaw India Pvt. Ltd., Morgan Stanley, AppDyamics, Udaan, WorkIndia, Cisco, Bajaj Auto, Shell, Societe Generale, Optum, Walmart Labs, Cloudera, Amadeus labs, Apple Wellsfargo etc.
Microsoft has recruited 7 students with a highest CTC of Rs. 44 Lakhs per annum. Super Dream companies recruitment was followed by Dream companies recruitment (CTC Rs. 5.5 Lakhs per annum and above). Some of the prominent recruiters include L&T Technology Services, Alstom, Hindustan Unilever, Ford Motors, Deloitte, Axis Bank, Standard Chartered, PWC, Robert Bosch, Valeo etc.,
VIT follows a centralised placement process and this year the students from all the four campuses of VIT—Vellore, Chennai, Amaravathi (AP), and Bhopal (MP) participated in all the campus recruitment processes.
The campus recruitment process at VIT will continue till the end of May, 2021 for the current batch. Last year, VIT had 739 companies recruiting from VIT in the previous year.
