More than 70 engineering designs were displayed on behalf of the various Schools of Engineering and Technology at an exhibition held in connection with Engineers’ Day at the VIT campus here on Tuesday. Baja race cars designed by the VIT students for the SAE, unmanned light aircraft models, new architectural designs, and designs of temple architecture were some of the highlights at the exhibition.

It was visited by G. Viswanathan, Chancellor, V. Raju, V-C, S. Narayanan, Pro-V-C and K. Kannabhiran, Director (Students’ Welfare) of VIT Pradeep Kumar Misra, Chief Administrative Officer, Southern Railway gave away the first prize for the best model to the team which designed a car to Mars.

The Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya 2015 award for the best stall was bagged by the School of Mechanical and Building Sciences.
