Counselling for B.Tech courses at VIT begins
Counselling for admission to B.Tech courses at Vellore Institute of Technology began today(09/05/2018) on the basis of ranks secured by candidates. Dr. G.Viswanathan, Founder and Chancellor of VIT, inaugurated the Counselling session by handing over admission letters to successful candidates.
Online admission examinations were held between April 4 and 16 at 124 venues all over India and elsewhere, including Kuwait, Muscat, Qatar and Dubai. The examinations for admissions to 7,985 seats include B.Tech in Mechanical, Civil, Computer Science, Bio Technology, Bio Medical, Information Technology, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication and among 18 courses at VIT’s Vellore campus; CSE, Civil, Mechanical, EEE, ECE, Electronics with Computer Science Engineering at VIT’s Chennai Campus; CSE, CSE with specialisation in gaming technology, CSE with specialisation in cuber security and digital forensics, EEE, ECE, Mechanical and Bio Engineering at VIT’s Bhopal campus; CSE, CSE with Networking Technology, CSE with Data Analytics, ECE, ECE with VLSI, ECE with Embedded Systems and Mechanical at VIT’s Andhra Pradesh campus in Amaravati.
The results of the entrance examinations were published on April 27 on VIT’s website: http://www.vit.ac.in.
At the end of the admission process, the process to issue admission orders based on the merit of the candidates who had written the examinations began simultaneously today (09/05/2018) at the different campuses of VIT at Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal and Andhra Pradesh.
The counseling for those who had secured ranks from 1 to 8,000 were held today (09/05/2018). For candidates who have secured ranks between 8,001 and 14,000, the counseling will be held on Thursday (May 10) and for those who have secured ranks from 14,001 to 20,000, it will be held on Friday (May 11).
The first admission order was handed over by Dr. G. Viswanathan to Umang Singhal of Madurai at the formal event today (09/05/2018).
