The CO2 Research and Green Technologies Centre (CGTC) focuses its cutting - edge research on energy and environmental related challenges leading to development of clean and sustainable technologies. The centre has successfully implemented a large number of renewable energy projects. The multidisciplinary faculty team has developed technologies like low-cost porous electrode for fuel-cell and water-splitting applications, pyrolysis of waste plastics, bio-oil from microbes & oil-seeds, tri-generation plant, treatment of wastewater through advanced biological treatment process and organic PV cells. It is a unique centre where thrust has been given on various aspects of CO2 related research like CO2 sequestration, conversion of CO2 into useful fuels, development of transcritical CO2 refrigerator and supercritical CO2 based extraction technology.
