B.Tech Counselling
The counselling for admission to various B. Tech courses at Vellore Institute of Technology VIT commenced on May 9, 2019 (Thursday). Dr. Sekar Viswanathan, Vice President, VIT, inaugurated the counselling by handing over admission letter to toppers. The first admission order was handed over to Sajal Pundhir of Uttar Pradesh. On the first day, the counselling was conducted for students who secured ranks from 1 to 10,000 in VITEEE. Dr. Sandhya Pentareddy, Executive Director, Dr. Anand A. Samuel, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. S. Narayanan, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Dr. K. Manivannan, Director (UG Admissions) of VIT were present during the inauguration of counselling. The counselling will go on till May 15. The counselling would be conducted simultaneously at Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal and Amaravati (AP). The process to issue admission letters based on candidate’s merit was conducted simultaneously at VIT’s four campuses.
The Counselling session for students with ranks from 10,001 to 30,000 will be on May 10, for those who secured ranks between 30,001 to 50,000 counselling will take place on May 11, candidates with ranks from 50,001 to 70,000 need to attend counselling on May 13, counselling for ranks 70,001 to 90,000 would be on May 14 and counselling for students with ranks 90,001 to 1,10,000 would be held on May 15.
The computer based VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE)-2019 was held from April 10 to 21, 2019 in 124 selected cities across India, as well as Dubai, Kuwait, Muscat and Qatar. The entrance examinations result was published on April 29, 2019.
The examination was conducted for admissions to various B.Tech courses, including B.Tech in Mechanical, Civil, Computer Science, Bio Technology, Bio Medical, Information Technology, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication and among 18 courses at VIT’s Vellore campus; CSE, Civil, Mechanical, EEE, ECE, Electronics with Computer Science Engineering at VIT’s Chennai Campus; CSE, CSE with Networking Technology, CSE with Data Analytics, ECE, ECE with VLSI, ECE with Embedded Systems and Mechanical at VIT-AP in Amaravati; CSE, CSE with specialisation in gaming technology, CSE with specialisation in cyber security and digital forensics, EEE, ECE, Mechanical and Bio Engineering at VIT’s Bhopal campus; Admission for other 3-year Undergraduate and 5-year UG Integrated programmes is also open and students can visit VIT’s website for more information about the programmes and for registering for admission.

SAI SAKETIKA CHEKURI, a student of Sri Chaitanya Techno School-Bangalore, Karnataka has secured the first rank in the VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE)-2019 which was held from April 10 to 21, 2019 in 124 selected cities across India, as well as Dubai, Kuwait, Muscat and Qatar. The entrance exam was held for admission to the various B.Tech programmes offered by VIT at its Vellore, Chennai, Amaravati (AP) & Bhopal.
Releasing the results here on April 29, 2019(Monday), VIT Chancellor Dr.G Viswanathan said that 1,62,426 candidates had registered for the VITEEE-2019. The other rank holders among the top 10 are 2nd rank: GURAJALA JOEL MOSES (Sri Chaitanya Jr. Kalasala ,Andhra Pradesh), 3rd rank: TUSHAR JAIN (Subodh Public School-CBSE, Jaipur), 4th rank: DISHANK JINDAL (Bhavan Vidyalaya, CBSE, Chandigarh), 5th rank : G BALA RATNA SWAMY (Tirumala Junior Kalasala, Andhra Pradesh ), 6th rank : THOMAS JACOB (Delhi Public School, Bhilai , Chattisgarh), 7th rank : YASHICA PATODIA (Delhi Public School Megacity- ICSE, Kolkata,West Bengal) , 8th rank : RAGHAVAN GOPALAN (National Public School-CBSE, Tamil Nadu), 9th rank : MOHIT KUMAR GOYAL (Indian Convent School-CBSE, Kota, Rajasthan) and 10th rank : SIDHARTH GIRI (Fr. Agnel School, Noida-CBSE, Noida, Uttar Pradesh).
Dr.G. Viswanathan said that admissions would be done only on merit, based on the marks secured by the candidates in the VITEEE. The results have been released in VIT’s website www.vit.ac.in.
Under the G V School Development Programme central and State board exam toppers would be given 100 percent fee waiver for all the four years. Candidates with ranks upto 50 would be given 75 percent tuition fee waiver, those with ranks 51 to 100 would get 50 percent tuition fee waiver and candidates in ranks 101 to 1,000 would be given 25 percent tuition fee waiver.
