250 VITians Donate Blood
As many as 250 students of VIT University, Vellore, donated blood at a camp organised by the Youth Red Cross and National Service Scheme of the University recently.
According to a release, G. Viswanathan, Chancellor of the university inaugurated the camp organised as an awareness drive.
A 17-member team from the Christian Medical College, Vellore, led by Arul Bagyaraj of the hospital blood bank and another 12-member team from the Government Vellore Medical College Hospital (GVMCH), Adukkamparai, led by P. Bhaskar, Blood Bank Officer of the hospital collected blood from the donors.
Nearly 150 units of blood were given to CMC hospital while remaining 100 units were donated to GVMCH.
